Man, I feel like I've been running to stand still! This whole weekend is a blur to me. Friday we just stayed at home, making plans for the weekend packing wise. We had to bite the bullet and get the attic of the shed cleared out before it got too cold.

We've started using up some of the frozen stuff in the freezer so there isn't so much to take when we get to the new place. Every so often, we go through a cooking spree and freeze a lot of it so we have "quick meals" later. Starting to get it used up. Friday night we boiled up some pre-made stuffed noodles and I made my alfredo sauce. It tasted good but my stomach didn't care too much for a lot of it. I'll be glad when my body adjusts to the meds. Thursday I had phoned the doctor who prescribed and he told me to take 2 a day instead of 3. We got the chicken out for beer can chicken for Saturday.

Saturday morning got up and after having our morning tea/coffee, we bundled up and went to the shed and got the attic cleared out and took a load to the landfill. I was relieved to get that job done as I hate ladders and I was up in the attic (pitfall of being smaller than hubby I guess LOL) handing stuff down to Rob.

Came in, showered, got the chicken on the go and got ready for an evening out. We were heading to Waterloo to check out some big screen TV's and see if we could get some of the Christmas shopping done. We found out that a lot of places closed at 6PM... we got there at 6:30.... d'oh!

Oh well LOL We went out for drinks after and then came back home getting home around midnight. Took my meds and went to bed. Was feeling a little crampy.

Then the mother of all cramps woke me up at 1:30 and I was just doubled over completely. Tried using the bathroom to no avail. My whole abdominal area just hurt like a son of a you know what! It passed a little bit, and then it woke me up again at 3, then again at 5 when I was finally able to do something in the bathroom and it was finally done. I knew exactly what the culprit was: the chicken skin it was so greasy it caused the stupid meds to painfully disagree with me. I felt so much better that I went back to bed and slept until 10:30 when Rob woke me up to ask if I was still going to help the kinettes clear out our old clubroom since we're not using it anymore. If so Tina was hoping we could carpool (she had phoned while I was still sleeping). I got up feeling fine and picked Tina up and headed over to Palmerston.

Got the clubroom cleaned out so now we can turn in the keys and be rid of that structural disaster.

Came home, rested a little and then we had dinner. I was painfully aware that the dishes were sorely behind... and I knew it was really bad when Rob gave me dinner with plastic forks and knives. We ate, went to Paul and Annalese's for a visit, came home and went to bed.

This morning I put a dent in the dishes (we at least have cutlery again) and getting psyched up to get these angels cut out for the Kinettes Angels of Hope campaign (CF Fundraiser) that I'll be attending this Saturday.

This Saturday is also the Christmas Parade in Palmerston. We've apparently got a "train" to decorate for the parade (makes sense since Palmerston is an old railroad hub for the grand trunk railroad...) and if we have Christmas lights please bring 'em. I guess I'll take my icicle lights LOL We decorate it Friday night. We also collect for the food bank during the parade. We've been doing this for years so people know to bring their non-perishables to the parade. I'll take my camera and see if I can get pictures during the parade.

That's about it for today! Time to get the next load of dishes done.

Up to Box #32....

Got the one room cleared out and are just loading it up with filled boxes. I have 32 indexed boxes filled with stuff and more for the landfill/thrift store.

We went through the closet by the door and threw out a lot of stuff and then hung the coats up inside and put the shoe rack in. Then I went upstairs and packed all the knick knacks I had on my dresser, cleared out the nightstand, got most of Rob's Campbell Soup Memorabilia packed. So that room is essentially done. Rob will be going through the closet up there and packing what is to be kept of his stuff from pre-Jenn days and then it will be done.

I found the pieces of my late Grandmother's chair that she had at her cottage. I'll see if it can be put back together and put at *our* cottage. It's an oldie for sure. Also found the old wooden croquet set.

We also got our Christmas presents today (LOL)

Jenn's Gift

Rob's Gift

:)

Also got my brother's Christmas gifts today. So that just leaves Mum and Dad. Rob's family decided that we're just going to buy for the kids and donate what we'd normally spend on each other to a charity of our choice signed by "The Searson Family" Fine by me, less shopping :)

After I get the upstairs organized I'm going to tackle packing the kitchen. Packing stuff that I can't see us using between now and settling in at the new place.

Should take my camera upstairs and take a picture of all the boxes. They are quite pretty actually.... LOL the next chore will be to take the notebook I've been indexing all the boxes in and type it on the computer.... oy!

Dog Cries When Soldier Returns

Productive

I'm not working at a fast speed but I am making progress around here. Just having some leftover pizza for lunch now.

Got the toilet seat installed so now I don't have to worry about sliding off.

The house looks like it threw up boxes... So I guess I'll work on that this afternoon.

Got a roast in the crock pot for dinner tonight.

It will be nice to spend time with Rob this weekend. With my erratic sleeping (in bed at 10 or 11 and up about 10-11 hours later....... it's driving me crazy) we haven't been seeing much of each other. School nights he drops in to get his dinner around 5:45 6:00PM and gets home around 11. Other nights he is home at around 8. But of course two hours later I'm in bed.

I'll be glad when my body adjusts to my meds and I won't be sleeping so much hopefully. It certainly makes for an unproductive day and adding to the vicious cycle.

Yummmm :)

can't wait to try this again next year

the next must have on any hummingbird lover's list LOL

Woman Stuff...

Since starting the Metformin for my PCOS just over 3 weeks ago I think I'm starting to notice some of the effects of it.

Asides from the constant fatigue..... and the feeling that my head is a little messed up (disjointed thoughts and having a hard time getting a complete sentence out) there has been other interesting effects.

The second week I was on it, there was one day where the cramps were so bad that I was in the bathroom with not the runs but damned close to it. I thought it was the new fruit juice I was drinking but after having it again the next day with no effect, I put it down to something that I wasn't sure what it was. (does that even make any sense????)

Then last Friday I noticed a little spotting. But very faint. The fatigue and just general blah feeling continued. Saturday one more spotting episode, and again on Sunday. Then yesterday morning I thought my period came. But I discovered later no, just a larger spot with clotting. I was starting to get worried. I told Rob about the spotting again when the Saturday evening one happened. He asked me if it was like when I had the miscarriages. I said I didn't think so but wasn't sure. I was just keeping an eye on it and keeping more track of how I was feeling. When I saw the clot and larger spotting yesterday, my mind just started to race. (Hence only getting the bingo calls out once and no bonus bingo call.....)

Rob got home around 5 after a dental appointment and I told him what happened. He said see if you can get an appointment with Dr. Hancock or do you want to go to emergency? I said no, I'll see how I feel later. Worse case scenario call 911 if I need an ambulance since he had school.

The rest of the evening went fine, I went on the internet to look up Metformin side effects when treating polycystic ovary syndrome because all the stuff I have from the pharmacy is for diabetes which I don't have.

I found out that spotting is normal as my hormones affected by the PCOS get realigned and evidently I've been getting off very easy compared to other women who are on metformin for PCOS. So when Rob got home I told him and by that time his Mom had called and she is on Metformin for her diabetes and she confirmed some of the other side effects but they wear off after awhile when your body gets used to it. She's been taking it for about 12 years.

Another (nice!) affect I've noticed is that my facial hair is a bit thinner (just in front of my ears) and my skin feels a little more resilient and not so oily in some spots. Acne has never been a problem for me thanks to my father's great peaches and cream skin gene so never noticed that issue being alleviated. (PCOS sufferers evidently get horrible acne and skin issues)

So maybe this will do the trick and my body will get back on track. Last night was a real learning experience for sure!

I'm still tired today but not near as bad as it was yesterday so going to try to get some more work done here since I was useless as tits on a bull yesterday.

You have GOT to be kidding me.

Just a quick post

Whew what a weekend!

Kinsmen and Kinette Fall Leadership Conference (FLC) was fun, but evidently not as much fun as the Spring Conventions when there is a much better turnout typically.

The theme for this year was Medieval Times FLC so there was Knights and Dames at every turn. (Hence the jousting good time status on facebook more for the Family of Kin people...)

Even though it started on Friday, Rob and I went down Saturday morning and came back Sunday afternoon. I got ready for my kinette meeting and headed off there.

FINALLY got sworn in as president and now have my presidential bling for the year (LOL) :)

The executive is now installed. w00t :)

Not doing too much today just odds and ends and try to get the house tidied up some and more packing done. Very tired today.

Must remember to call bingo number in about an hour for the hummer club.

Tired

7:30 pm and just waiting on Rob to get home. I've got a real pork loin in the crock pot (I'm assuming everyone heard about my... error... yesterday....) and I'm feeling super tired.

I was thinking of maybe a nice romantic night with Rob but for whatever reason my eyes just don't want to stay open. I'm tired of being tired that's for sure LOL Maybe it's the fact that it's pitch black out now. I am looking forward to December 21 the shortest day of the year.. because after that the days start getting longer again.

The past few mornings there has been frost on the ground but the daylight sun has sure been nice. Almost to the point I could have all the windows in the house open. But I've just had a few open to bring the fresh air in, but not for very long.

Started the 3 doses a day today and so far so good no issues. I will take my third pill with dinner tonight.

Got one more load of laundry to do and it will ALL be done.

Well, I guess I'll get the rest of dinner going, everyone have a nice evening :)

Culmination

This is just a culmination of posts in one big entry....

November 7, 2009

We both slept in this morning something we both look forward to for Saturdays. We both had haircut appointments this morning so after doing mail for a little bit, showering and then left here dropping the car off at Jed's for it's oil change. We're averaging one oil change a month with all the driving we're doing. Rob had his hair cut and then I had mine washed and then cut. She cut it into layers so I don't lose gobs of hair each time I comb it. Feels nicer already and noticed I'm not leaving a hair trail behind me when I walk anywhere. Feel like a new woman.

Then we went to the RV place to return a part we didn't need for the trailer winterizing.

Stopped by Mum and Dad's for a little visit.

Then stopped by the house before heading to Crappy Tire (Canadian Tire) to pick up a crock pot that was on sale since my large 7 qt. one bit the dust after about 10 years of service. Even came with a little fondue dipper pot. Then did the grocery shopping. I got caught up on my mail and updated the hummingbird club website and group page.

I was starving!! Had BBQ Steak and sweet taters for dinner.

Think maybe I'll play cards on the internet tonight. Haven't decided yet :)

November 8, 2009

Woke up during the night and had to take care of my itchy legs. Then this morning I swore I had slept 15 hours, felt very tired but saw that it was only 8:30. Felt more like 11AM.

I hope I'm not coming down with a bug.

Think I'll just do some laundry today.

Who knows maybe I'll perk up after a shower.

Super tired but just lay in bed and can't sleep.

November 8, 2009

I went to hang some sheets outside and I braced myself for a cold temperature out there. Opened up the patio door and was greeted by a near summer day! So after I hung out the sheets I ran around the house and opened ALL the windows. Feeling better already with the fresh air coming in.

Let's hope this nice weather continues clear into December LOL

they are forecasting this kind of weather until Friday and then rain on Saturday. That's fine by me - I'll keep the windows open this week and air this place out. Could be too the cooped up air from us not being here for 6 months is making me feel ill.

Lasagna for supper and Mum and Dad are coming over around 3 this afternoon for a visit and dinner.

In other news, while I was hanging out a quilt on the clothesline, Rob came to the screen door and asked me how attached I was to the teapot I use. I said not a lot just one I bought from the cheap store that was big enough for when Mum and Dad come over and have tea... Well while he was being a sweetheart and putting the dishes in the drainer away for me, he dropped a plate and it landed square on the lid if the teapot and broke it in 3 pieces (just the lid, the pot itself is fine) but lucky enough not to break the plate.

I'm not too concerned, I have another large teapot we can use for when Mum and Dad come over, and I have my small Sadler teapot still.

Just taking a break and trying some new juice we picked up at the store yesterday:

Having the Omega 3 Strawberry Kiwi juice. Tastes pretty good :)

Exercise Ball

Does anyone have one? If so how do you like it? And what kind?

Shopping

I've been trying to start my Christmas shopping for quite some time but have felt, uninspired, let's say, as to what to get people.

Put the bug in Mum's ear that Rob would like a meat slicer and one is currently on sale for $67 at Home Hardware.

I think I'll get Jeff some snowmobile stuff since his latest eyebrow raising purchase (must be one of the perks of living at home... all the money you make can go towards buying toys instead of helping with the cost of the household..... but I digress..)

Mum and I are going in together to get Dad a Tilley hat.

Junk mail came in today and saw that a store here in town has a bunch of turtlenecks with embroidery on the neck part. I think I'll get Mum a few of them since she loves turtlenecks but they are relatively hard to come by. Maybe do that tomorrow.

7:30 pm and just waiting on Rob to get home. I've got a real pork loin in the crock pot (I'm assuming everyone heard about my... error... yesterday....) and I'm feeling super tired.

Started packing finally.

I have most of the china cabinet packed, need to phone Mum and ask her to save all her newspapers for me so I can finish wrapping up some more of the more delicate pieces.

Got the hats hanging on the wall packed into a tote, all of my rose bowls, all my wedding memorabilia packed. All the photos on the piano except for one are packed. Need more newspaper for the remaining one as it's a very important one: a photo of Rob's late grandparents in a frame.

Got the decorative shelf hanging in the kitchen emptied, just need to get Rob to take the shelf down now.

Got his mini liquor bottle collection packed and the shelf that housed them down.

My royal family collection packed.

The entertainment centre packed with the exception of all the movies, vcr, stereo, TV and piece of @#$%! dvd player.

Need more boxes... maybe I'll get more this weekend.
